As a club that has been operating successfully for over 18 years, we proudly invite you to come and share our love for artistic swimming. We are sure you will enjoy our all-inclusive, family-friendly club
Hi! We are Amy Davis and Lisa Hurley. We have been running Brentwood Artistic Swimming for over 18 years. We are passionate and dedicated to our sport and provide a great service to the community by giving the children fun, friendly sessions and the opportunity to be part of a team, irrelevant to ability.
We cater for all children from 8 years old. Our only requirement is that swimmers can swim front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke competently. Our sport involves a lot of underwater swimming and so requires mental and physical agility.
Our team also includes coaches Kirsten Blee, Nicole Gibson, Jeanie Hurley, Vanessa Byles and Blaise Gorsuch-Browne who add value to our club with varied skill sets. Over the past 18 years we have competed in many competitions regionally and nationally and are the current 13-15 Year Old Combo Cup National Champions.
These classes take place at 3:30pm-4:30pm on a Saturday afternoon.
For these classes please see the training hours to the right-hand side.
We are part of the East Region and compete in 3 competitions a year against clubs from Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedford and Norwich. We also have competed in recent years at the National Combination Cup. Artistic Swimming competitions are inspirational to our swimmers as the AS community throughout the country are friendly and supportive. As a minority sport we rely on keeping our beloved sport alive and accessible to all abilities and ages.
Here we have our two head coaches (Lisa and Amy) alongside our trainee coach who was taught in this very club.
I have been passionate about synchronised swimming since the age of 11 and swam as part of the Southern Counties Team and qualified for team GB Youth Squad. I have been coaching at Brentwood for the last 18 years and have loved sharing my knowledge with the children that have come through the club. I have also competed at Masters Competitions both nationally and internationally in the last 10 years.
I love coaching as much as competing and take great joy seeing the progression of our swimmers and their shared love of the sport.
I started synchronised swimming at the age of 7 after achieving speed swimming at a competent level. I was a keen dancer and enjoyed the water so found an amazing sport that combined the two. With my club we competed at Essex Champs annually and I qualified for the Essex Team for 4 years.
I am now the East Region Artistic Swimming Manager and organise competitions, grading days and development courses. Our region is a friendly community and I enjoy working with the other clubs to celebrate our sport.
Once joining Brentwood Synchro at the age of 8 I have grown up in the sport and as part of the club. Being an athlete and a member of this club I would go to many local competitions and would often walk away with lots of gold medals dangling around my neck. I then went onto train with a London team and compete at National level. With a lot of hard work and countless hours in the pool and land training led to us placing in the medal categories at many competitions at the National level.
Since moving back to Essex after graduating I re-joined Brentwood Synchro as part of the Masters team, as well as a Qualified Assistant Coach. Brentwood Synchro invested so much into me as a young girl and I love that I now have an opportunity to give back, and invest and train the team now.
